Alex Murdoch: Leading US lawyer recruited professional killer to do self destruction attack.
U.S. police say a
prominent South Carolina lawyer, Alex Murdoch, arranged for a hired assassin to
carry out a suicide attack so that his son could receive 10 10 million in life
insurance. Alex Murdoch, 53, comes
from a South Carolina family of lawyers. For three generations, his
great-grandfather, great-grandfather and father all served as the
highest-ranking prosecutors in the five-county state.
In June, the bodies of Murdoch's wife Margaret, 52, and son Paul, 22, were found near his home. At the time of his death, Paul was also facing criminal charges in connection with a 2019 incident in which authorities said he was intoxicated and caused a boat accident in which a woman was killed. Alex Murdoch was shot in early September. No captures have been made in the episode up until now.The incident came a day after Murdoch resigned from his law firm. The law firm later claimed he misused the funds, with Murdoch's lawyer saying he used the funds primarily for his opioid addiction. Murdo entered the rehabilitation center several days after the shooting. The incident comes just
three months after Murdoch's wife and second son were shot dead. Murdoch received "minor" injuries to his head after being shot on the side of the road on September 4. In fact, Murdoch's lawyers claimed he was changing tires when he was shot by an unknown assailant. He was delivered from the medical clinic two days after the fact. Police now claim that Murdoch's lawyers have admitted that he arranged for the attack to be carried out so that his son could receive insurance money. Curtis Edward Smith, a 61-year-old assailant and Murdoch's former client, now faces a number of criminal charges, including insurance fraud, conspiracy to commit assault, suicide and drug possession. Smith has confessed to being engaged with the occurrence. Although no charges have
been filed against Murdoch, police say additional charges are expected. Murdoch's lawyer said on Wednesday that he had made the plan under the misconception that his son would not receive insurance money if he committed suicide. Attorney Dick Harputlian told NBC: "Murdoch called the man (Smith) who met him on the side of the road and agreed to shoot him in the head. It was an attempt by them to do something to protect their child. The attorney added that
Murdoch was cooperating with authorities and did not want any "fake
crime" to divert police attention as they investigated the murder of his
wife and son. Police have not charged anyone with the June murders of Paul and Margaret Murdoch, nor have they suggested Alex Murdoch was involved. Talking on NBC's Morning Show on Wednesday, Harputlian rejected that Murdoch had a say in the passings of his better half and child. "They are very worried," Harputlian said. They did not kill. " Police are also re-investigating the death of 19-year-old Stephen Smith, who was killed in 2015 after Alex Murdoch's case came to light. The young man was found dead less than 10 miles from the site in the same county. The young man's death was first called a shooting but was later described as a "hit and run" case. Police did not say what
information they received from Murdoch during the interrogation, which prompted
them to re-investigate the Stephen Smith case. Who killed Paul and Margaret Murdoch? Police declined to comment on the suspects in Margaret and Paul's June deaths. Murdoch's brothers, Randy and John, said after the murder that they did not know if there were any enemies in his family, but they claimed that Paul had received threats. On Wednesday, lawyer Harputlian said Murdoch did not know who killed his family. However, Harputlian added that "they are investigating one person or more. We believe they may be involved." "We figure we will find this week whether the singular we suspect should be moreover analyzed," he said. We will provide this information to law enforcement. " Although he declined to
give further details, Harputlian said there was "a personal reason for thekilling. Don't forget to share this blog with your friends and family. for more information please click below link. |
