New Delhi: Former Indian Test cricketer Yashpal Sharma has died of a
heart attack at the age of 66.
66-year-old Yashpal Sharma has represented India in 37 Tests and 42
ODIs. Yashpal Sharma was also part of the 1983 World Cup winning Indian team.
He was the second highest run scorer for India in the 1983 World Cup.
Yashpal was an important part of the middle order of the Indian cricket team
from 1979 to 1983. He worked as a selector for a few years. He scored 1,606
runs in 37 Test matches at an average of 33.45. Yashpal scored 883 runs for
India in 42 ODIs at an average of 28.48.
